Module 1: Introduction to GIS

Learn about GIS fundamentals; different data types such as raster and vector. Start uploading, visualizing, and analyzing your data via Felt.

Module 2: Understanding GIS data creation

Learn about different data sources; where they come from and what kind of metadata they have. Go deeper into vector datasets by analyzing different fields.

Module 3: Vector layer styling and visualization

Learn about what a basemap is and its impact on the overall look-and-feel of a map. Also, you’ll start learning about more advanced vector visualization techniques.

Module 4: Raster layer styling and visualization

Learn about what raster data is and its differences compared to vector data. You’ll will also learn about how to analyze raster data and visualize it.

Module 5: Data exploration and spatial analysis

Learn about spatial analysis, including how to define research questions, gather data, use ESDA and transformation tools, and interpret results.

Module 6: New trends in GIS: accessible and collaborative mapping

Learn about the transition of GIS from desktop to internet platforms, collaboration needs, and modern mapping tools.
